walls of the world

watching the news
while i was eating
insane
civilians in the hospital
lebanon and israel

i asked
who is right?
the response was nobody
disgusted

as i just finished reading a blog
somebody who is
as chinese canadian christian as i am
just as old as i am
taking sides
justifying the need for these attacks
disappointed

the next segment
taiwan testing it's defences
in preperation for an attack from china
swaths of planes, boats, tanks
firing like there is no tomorrow
demonstrating their power

i asked
why do i design buildings
if eventually they will fall
possibly blown up
my world revolves around buildings
and how i connect architecture to everything...
so sad.

beefing up of miliary force everywhere
arms racing ahead

being attacked?
attack back with everything you have?

afraid of being attacked?
stock up on defences to protect yourself?

not strong enough to protect yourself?
make good friends good allies?

what is the world coming to
or has been all along
how do you live in a war torn country?

as i watch children running into military helicopters
children lying cripple in hospital beds
and the unseen victims no longer of this world
breaks me
it seemed as though i just realized
what goes on around the world
outside my four walls
